Golf isn't won on the course alone. Every successful swing is built on strength, practice, balance, and control — your body drives the technique, not the other way round. I've spent years training mine to take my own game further. Now I do the same for my clients. Technique and physical strength aren't separate disciplines; they're two halves of one game perfectly balanced. Get both right, and you don't just play better — you play better for longer, and stronger.
[ About ]Golf coaching and personal training — two sides of the same coin. Some golfers want to sharpen their swing. Others want to build the strength and conditioning behind it. I help with both, because each one moves your game forward. Hire me as a golf trainer, or a personal trainer. But if you're really serious about progressing your game — bring the two together: I'll help you sharpen your swing and develop the power behind it. Either will take you further. But combining the two, that's what leads to real improvement.
[TRAINING PROGRAMS]Let’s Get Started
Golf Technique
Six to Eight Week Program • Beginner to Advanced
I work with golfers of all levels—from beginners to single-figure handicaps. Every programme starts with an honest diagnosis of your current technique, then builds a structured, personalised route to improvement. You'll get video analysis, clear feedback, and a plan you can actually follow.
Golf Fitness Training
Six to Eight Week Program • Difficulty: Beginner to Advanced
Technique and physical conditioning—addressed together in a single programme. You get everything in the Golf Training programme, plus a fitness and mobility assessment, baseline measurements, and a bespoke exercise plan built around your game. Progress tracked throughout; results measured at the end.
Personal Fitness Training
Six to Eight Week Program • Difficulty: Beginner to Advanced
Strength, mobility, and fitness—assessed, planned, and built around you. I take baseline measurements at the start, design a session structure specific to your current level, and track your data throughout. At the end, you'll know exactly what's changed and why.
About Me
Henry Bareham
I'm not your typical golf coach, and I'm not your typical PT; I'm both. Because being a great golfer demands it. I now train golfers the way I trained myself: technique and physical strength, fused together—stay strong, life long.
I've spent over 15 years competing as a PGA golf professional, and just as long building the strength and conditioning to back it up. My game started young—I represented England Schoolboys, won the BB&O County Championship as an amateur, and turned professional in 1990. Since then I've taken the Northants PGA County Championship three times.
But golf was never the whole picture. I've always trained alongside it—strength work, conditioning, the full programme. A few years ago I formalised that with a CIMSPA qualification and, in 2025, a Diploma in Personal Training.
Coaching has been part of me since I was 18. The drive to help others improve—in their game, in their body, in their confidence—is what I do this for.
[ TESTIMONIALS ]But don’t just take my word for it.
I recently had my first lesson with Henry Bareham, and my advice is: book a session. Forget what you think you know, because it's very likely incorrect. From the correct grip, to addressing the ball with the right posture, through all the elements of the swing, Henry explains it all with clarity, and backs it up with intuitive practice techniques.
How supple you are, and your range of movement, also plays a big part in how you swing the club. As a personal trainer and fitness instructor, Henry put together a fitness programme to increase my flexibility and core strength, which also helps prevent injury. I've since been to the range with what I've been taught, and it's already made a huge difference.

Henry is not only motivating and fun, he's also improved my training by demonstrating correct techniques. I never knew I was doing push-ups incorrectly until he showed me. Now I do them with less injury risk and have several progressions to strengthen myself and my form.

I’ve been working with Henry (H) for several months and he has transformed my training. He is incredibly focused on ensuring a safe technique and correct posture to protect against injury risk - for an older client (>60) this is fundamental to building all body strength. He knows when to push, and when to back off, and has a wide range of exercises to ensure boredom doesn’t set in! I’d definitely recommend him as a PT.

Not at all. I work with golfers of all abilities, from complete beginners to single-figure handicaps.

It's entirely up to you. The programme you choose depends on your goals—golf coaching, fitness training, or both are available as standalone options.

Both start with an honest assessment of where you are and a structured plan to get you where you want to be. The golf programme focuses on technique; the fitness programme focuses on strength, mobility, and conditioning. The combined programme addresses both.
